Baby baby

In preparation for the fair I thought it would be a good idea to make some "New Baby" cards. I bought some cute embellishments a while back in the sale at Hobbycraft and thought it was high time I got them out and used them!

These cards are the smaller A5 size and they cost £1.50. They feature some of the Hobbycraft embellishments. (I love that gingham paper!)

These cards are the larger cards that cost £2.50. I bought these kitty toppers in a pack from Ebay. I just knew I had to but them! theyre great because they covered a host of occasions. I backed them onto patterned paper and then again onto white card. I made the bows myself.

As you can see they're all wrapped in their cello bags ready for the stall =) This next card was a custom order. One of my Mam's bosses has just had a little girl, and everyone put in for a collection for her. So this card isn't a new baby card as such, more like a gift card that she can keep forever.

(Sorry about the pretty appalling light!)

More Easter cards!

This year my Mam asked me if I would make special Easter cards for my Grandad, Grandma and my cousin Rachel. It was easy to make my cousin's as I'd bought the cross stitch kit a while ago especially for that, but it took some getting going for my Grandparents' cards. Anyway, after trying a few things out and making a big mess (!!) this is what I came up with.

You can't see it very well in this picture, but I attached a piece of cream card which I had punched with my Daisy border punch as a little extra detail.

I stitched the little bunnies in around 1-2 hours, I couldn't quite believe how little time it took! It was really enjoyable, it's been a while since I did any sewing like this and it made me want to do more of it!!

Taking it back in time

These cards are kind of special, because they're totally different from my other cards! They are A4 in size and I am selling them for £3.50. I'm loving art deco at the moment and have made a few cards which reflect that.
Aren't they fab? They're kind of hard to display at fairs though as my table isn't that big and they take up a lot of space haha! But they're worth it =)

These next cards came about because I saw the embellishments and I loved them, and later i saw the black card blanks with "Happy Birthday" written in silver like a border. They matched like a dream! I stuck some gray and white sentiments inside to finish them off.

There were two large dress form embellishments in the pack that were too large for this size cards, so I designed two of my own in the same style as the above. I'm pleased with how they turned out =) They are priced at £2.50.

[Just realised I don't have any photos of them, so I will go take some and come back!]

Last weekend my Mam asked if I'd make a deco style card for her boss's birthday and this is what I came up with -

My very first aperture card!! It's an interesting effect, I think I will make more of these in the future!

Here come the boys!

Recently I've been working on putting together a stock of cards for boys as I noticed all the cards I had were very girlie! The first card you see below was an order from my Mam for her best friend's birthday, but the rest are just to go in my stash =)

I still think I could do with a few more, and I need to even out the numbers between kids and adults, but I still think it's a good head start =) what do you think?

Easter cards =)

I have to say, I was amazed when I looked in my box of cards and saw that they were mostly left over Christmas cards from my panicked over-production for the Christmas fair and my first attempt at Easter cards from last year! I think they were originally destined for Etsy but I wimped out and they've been in the box ever since! Quite lucky really as it meant I had a really good head start on cards for the Cluny Craft Fair.

Anyway, continuing the mentality that too much is better than just enough, I cracked on (pardon the pun!) and made even more Easter cards this year! Here is the product of my 3-day lock down in preparation for the fair!

Mother's Day 2011

This year I had 4 orders for Mothers Day and they were all for family lol! My Dad and brother Philip asked for cards for my Mam, and my Mam asked for cards for my Grandma from her and from my brother and I. As I knew I was doing the fair on Mothers Day I made some extras to take with me incase there were any last minute purchasers. However, it seemed that everyone was organised this year, so they have been returned to my 'stash box' ready for next year.
Do you want to have a peek? Here you go ...

Orders / personal;

(I have a confession - I forgot to take photos of my brothers and Grandmas cards!)
