Sorry it's been a week!

I really don't know where the time goes! I mean, I haven't exactly been rushed off my feet - I've been off them mostly because I sprained my back falling off a horse and have been an almost-cripple for a week! I'm still not quite right but I am definitely much better.

I've still been sending my brain into a tizz though, coming up with ideas for things to sell at the Christmas fair. (I've also just heard of one happening in September and am debating whether or not to give it a try.) I've been on hundreds of websites and looked at hundreds of tutorials, and made a visit to Hobbycraft at the weekend to buy some supplies. £68 worth of supplies to be exact, and that was with some money off! There's still a couple of things I need that weren't in stock so I will have to go back, but the girl on the till sneaked another voucher into my bag so I'll use that. Thank you lovely girl! =)

I've just been talking to Gileng and she says she has overbooked sellers, so I agreed to share a table with someone. This means I can't get too carried away and that's probably a good thing ... I've been feeling waaaaay too inspired lately!

I found this blog during one of my inspiration hunts and I want to be this woman haha! Kerry makes some amazing and really beautiful things and sells them at lots of craft fairs. I've picked up so many useful tips of her, I'm so grateful!
I feel another trip to Hobbycraft is on the cards (pardon the pun!) pretty soon, and since I have no plans this week (apart from Toy Story 3 on Thursday!), I will be going home every night and crafting my socks off!

Exciting news!

So, today I went to see my friend Gileng for lunch (a fellow creative head) and we talked about our jobs and what we want in the future and about life in general really. She is the wonder woman behind Purble Bell Designs and was in some ways the inspiration behind me setting up Purrfect Papercraft. I'd thought about doing it for a while but didn't think it would take off, then the next think I know Gileng is out there doing it and loving it!

Anyway, she held a fair in Christmas '09 and I was gutted i couldn't make it. She's arranged another one at the end of this month but I am at a wedding that day so can't make it again! She mentioned today that she's been thinking about hosting another Christmas fair this year and asked me if I would like to have a table! I was thrilled! She used to make cards but now makes jewelry, gifts, accessories, homewares and amazing cupcakes! (One of which she gave me today, yum yum!) She's so talented and it would be an honour to work beside her! She said I would be the only card maker there, which is exciting in itself!

Here are some photos from her fair last year ...

I knew I would have to start thinking about Christmas soon (and its not hard considering we skipped Summer this year and went straight to Autumn!) but now I will have to go into overdrive and work really hard to get lots done! Plan, plan, plan!!

Happy 60th!

One of my Mam's friends hits the big 6-0 this weekend and my Mam asked me to put together a card for her. So I thought up a design, then took all my papers and embellishments to Mam and showed her what I was thinking and asked her what colours she'd like. She's very particular (as I have mentioned before) so that was the easiest way! Anyway, here is the finished outcome;

I think it's rather snazzy!! What do you think?

Busy busy!

I can honestly say I've made more cards over this week than I have in any other week since I satrted!! I've finally got my spark back, and am once again really excited about card making. I've been to the library and had a browse through some books, I've looked online for inspiration, and I dug out my stash of papers and got busy. I love all the cards I've made which makes a nice change coz there's been a fair few times when I have been unsure. So ... on to the peeks!

These cards are made with some Buzzcraft papers I got on Ebay. They came the day after I bought themm, and I turned them into cards the day after that! I have to go to the craft shop and get some wire for the stems, but other than that they're prettymuch finished.

I love all the light colours, and I love how everything matches. I've never had anything matching before, I've always bought seperates and matched things up. This is definitely the way forward though haha!

In my last post I posted some photos of my new collection. I'm in the right frame of mind to carry on making cards like this so there could be loads! Again though, I need to go to the craft shop as I am running out of cards!

I've brought everything into work with me today so I can make some when it's quiet, but .... I forgot to bring my white card! Duh! Oh, also, many of the cards are one-of-a-kind, as some of the papers I only had 1 sheet of and can't get any more of. I guess that makes them special =)

All in a days work!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend =) I finally got myself into action and made some cards! Here are the three that are totally finished.

The first is a 'thanks' card. I was sitting looking at my Papermania letters and this was what came to mind. So now I have a grand total of two Thank You cards!

These next cards are some that sprang to mind when I saw my heart-shaped stencil. I found some paper that I'd forgotten I had and used that on these cards. I love the hot pink, for some reason it makes me think of summer in some exotic location! These are part of my new collection that I'm putting together =)

I haven't stamped them with "Happy Birthday" or "Thinking of You" as I think a blank card like this can be used for any occasion. They're the kind of cards you want at hand for a last minute occasion you've forgotten about haha!

Did you make anything this weekend?
